It's July already?

When did July happen and where'd June go? This year is going by SO fast! It's crazy. Before you know it, it'll be December.

So, to start off this month on the right foot I got up this morning and went on a 4 mile run around the lake. You know how it takes me 2 miles before I warm up usually, well now that I'm prego it takes me 3 miles. My first 3 miles were around a 13 min pace and my last mile was in the 11 min range. The thing that sucks right now is that I'm in that stage of pregnancy where people look at you and think, "Hummm...is she pregnant or is she just gaining a lot of weight?" The silly thing is every time I pass someone while running I feel the need to explain myself in my head, "Yeah, I know...I'm going insanely slow and I look over weight, but I'm pregnant. I'm aloud to be slow." The silly thing is I've only gained about 3 pounds in the past 2 months which isn't bad considering I haven't been running.
(See...you can totally see my "Is she overweight or is she pregnant" pudge.)
I'm proud of my run. Even though my thighs burned and my legs felt dead for the first 3 miles, I'm glad I got out there and did it. I'm glad that I did it without stopping and I'm glad that I was able to do it. :)

Kudos to you! I didn't move while pg and here I am 4 and 7 years later attempting to make good! LOL

Awesome job! I hear you about explaining yourself to others in your head: when I was coming back from an injury I did a lot of "run for two minutes/walk for one" and I just wanted to shout to all the runners passing me that I used to be able to run without walking!! :P

I think you look great! Sweet job getting those miles in. It is hard while you preg to keep up the habit but you can do it. You and baby will be so much better off for having put forth the effort.

and just turn off that watch, pace doesn't matter. Because baby can't tell time anyway!

Congrats! Remember how you feel when see people who are looking like they're just getting started (people like me) and you just want to tell them to keep going and they can do it? And you certainly don't expect their explanation? I'm sure that's how it is.

Not to mention that you don't look like you've gained a ton of weight! You looks great.

You are already ahead of 90% of other women out there by being able to run while pregnant. I know a friend who had to completely stop for the first 3 months, but even with that, I'm still impressed! Does your Dr. have any restrictions for you?

Pregnant and slow is better than slow because you are just chubby like me, LOL (said with a laughing tone). Great job! I'm in awe of women who have energy while pregnant...all 3 sucked the life out of me!

You look great! As a runner, you're more sensitive to the changes in your body that pregnancy brings. Fitness will make delivery easier and recovery faster. Keep it going!
