ReplyDeleteMy most fun race was the Living History Farms 7 mile XC race. It was my first experience with off road racing since I was a kid running around the ranches and farms we lived on!
ReplyDeleteIt kicked my but and I loved every minute of it! I can't wait to get out on the trails each time!
Going to run it again this year.
It was a race that I thought I could run in a little over an hour and it instead took me an hour and 25 minutes! I thought it would be a let down but I gave it my all and it just kicked my butt it was ok! I got super muddy and laughed and hooted and hollered with the other 7000 crazies that ran it too~!
This year I will run in costume. Thinking Steampunk!

ReplyDeleteMy favorite run so far has been the first time I ran 3.2 miles. I was training for my first (and so far, only) 5k with the Couch-to-5k plan and I really didn't think I could do it. I had never run that far before. I knew where my 2.9 mile turnaround mark was and I went past it to make sure I hit at least 3.1. Just past the turnaround, heading home, I started crying because I DID IT! Only then did I believe I could actually run a 5k. And I did... in 32:39. Just under my goal of 33:00!

ReplyDeleteFavorite race: Here's the thing I'm new at this so I have VERY few to choose from, but I happen to love the minimarathon in Elementary school. The whole thing was downhill and I had just finished telling everyone in my 4th grade class that I knew the secret to running (courtesy of my mommy). It doesn't matter how fast you go, it just matters that you keep going. I was confident with that secret that I could win any race (especially this one...). I didn't win, but that's probably the last time I remember feeling confident going into any running experience. :) So it's my favorite.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite run was my first run in the rain. When I got started, the sky looked gloomy and I contemplated about turning back. But I was glad I didn't. I ran, it sprinkled, and I kept running. I thought about a lot of things and had my mind cleared of doubts and failures at the end of the run. I was proud of myself and I felt strong. It wasn't very far - 3 miles or so, but it was a good run.

ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite runs was just last week...it was a short run day, and my neighbor who is "ultimate" running girl decided she would run with me. I had never run with her before. My plan was to only run 3 miles. I normally run between a 9:30 and 10min mile, but she said we would start at her pace (9miles) and could ease up if I go tired. The run was awesome and we chatted the whole time, and I kept up with her, which I was very proud of. My normal time for this run is 28-29min. We ended up running it in 26.03 (9:08, 9:03, 7:48) I felt great and sooo proud of myself! We are doing it again this week!
